Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC

Brothers and Sisters of Local 1-2,

As we reflect on the lasting impact of September 11, 2001, we remember with deep respect the members of Local 1-2 who worked at the World Trade Center site in the days, weeks, and months after the attack. Their courage, professionalism, and sacrifice in the face of unimaginable tragedy represent the very best of our union.

In the same spirit shown by our members who answered the call at Ground Zero, I am asking for your support. Please help me support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and America’s heroes by joining us on September 27th — or by making a donation. Any contribution, large or small, helps ensure that the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters, and by so many others, are never forgotten.

Brooklyn to Manhattan

Tunnel to Towers Foundation

Born from the tragedy of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries forward a legacy of courage and heroism. Guided by the mantra: While we have time, let us do good. The Foundation supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and their families.

In Memory of Firefighter Stephen Siller

The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC was created to honor the final footsteps of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel — formerly known as the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel — to the Twin Towers.
