A message from President James Shillitto
Local 1-2 Brothers and Sisters. This year the government observes Veterans Day on Friday, November 10, yet Saturday, November 11 is still the day we salute all Veterans.
Veterans Day came a year after the Armistice of World War I, where the nations of the world thought it was the war to end all wars, and so in 1919 the United States instituted the holiday that now gives thanks for all who have served our country.
Our Union has scores of men and women who served their country and returned to civilian life, where they continue to serve as Utility Workers.
In these extremely uncertain times, we now thank those who are serving today, protecting our citizens day and night.
If you are a Veteran, we thank you! If you know a Veteran, thank them! And we thank you all for your service, in times of peril and peace. God Bless you all.
